CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
AUTHORIZING RECONSTRUCTION OF A PICNIC STRUCTURE AND
REPLACEMENT OF OTHER DAMAGED EQUIPMENT
WHEREAS, the City jointly operates Lakeside Park with the City of Spring
Lake Park; and
WHEREAS, a wind storm destroyed a picnic structure, several picnic tables,
and several pieces of play equipment; and
WHEREAS, both Cities would like to reconstruct and replace the damaged
structure and equipment; and
WHEREAS, the removal of debris, the cost of the reconstruction of the
picnic structure, picnic tables, and play equipment will cost approximately $86,836
to be paid for by insurance proceeds less the deductible of$25,000; and
WHEREAS, the Spring Lake Park City Council has authorized the work
needed to restore the structure and equipment in order to avoid a 2% increase in
material and equipment prices; and
WHEREAS, the Mounds View City Council will need to modify the Lakeside
Park budget to accommodate the materials and equipment purchase of
$47,263.04.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Mounds View does hereby authorize the reconstruction of the picnic structure,
replacement of the damaged picnic tables and play equipment at Lakeside Park
and modifies the Lakeside park budget to accommodate the purchase of the
structure materials and replacement equipment.
