HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 7963 RESOLUTION 7963 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA Approving a Lease Agreement with NeopostlHasler for a Postage Machine WHEREAS, in 2007, the City purchased a postage machine though Minnesota Mailing Solutions; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Mailing Solutions went out of business, and was purchased by a competitor called Pitney Bowes; and WHEREAS, due to this change, the City no longer has a maintenance agreement with the City's current postage machine; and WHEREAS, Staff was informed that the City's current postage machine is not a Pitney Bowes machine, and therefore, Pitney Bowes is not able to provide the City with a maintenance agreement; and WHEREAS, Staff contacted Neopost/Hasler to inquire whether they could provide the City with a maintenance agreement; and WHEREAS, Neopost/Hasler informed Staff that the City's current postage machine is obsolete and it would cost the City $1,600 per year for a maintenance agreement; and WHEREAS, the City's current postage machine is failing and it is no longer cost effective to maintain the current postage machine; and WHEREAS,due to the numerous past problems and issues with service and reliability with Pitney Bowes, Staff is recommending leasing a new postage machine from Neopost/Hasler in the amount of$117.23 per month for a 63 month period. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mounds View City Council authorizes Staff to enter into a lease agreement with Neopost/Hasler in the amount of $117.23 per month, for a 63 month period, for a new postage machine, as indicated in the attached lease agreement. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, payment for this lease agreement shall be funded by the Central Services Budget, 100-4160-5100.
