STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION COMMENDING CAPTAIN FLOYD PAULSON FOR TWENTY YEARS OF
SERVICE WITH THE SPRING LAKE PARK/BLAINE/MOUNDS VIEW FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Floyd Paulson became a volunteer firefighter with the Spring Lake
Park/Blaine/Mounds View Fire Department on April 21, 1973; and
WHEREAS, Floyd Paulson was appointed as Fire Motor Operator in June of 1981 and
promoted to Captain in May of 1984; and
WHEREAS, Captain Paulson responded to 2,910 fire calls which averages out to 45% of the
fire calls in his twenty years with the Department; and
WHEREAS, Captain Paulson attended 1,056 drills; and
WHEREAS, Captain Paulson put in 226 hours of station clean-up outside of the regular
equipment cleaning; and
. WHEREAS, Captain Paulson was a member of the Fire Department's Grievance Committee;
and
WHEREAS, Captain Paulson conducted many hours of public fire education including truck
demos at preschools, day cares, churches and schools as well as conducted fire station tours; and
WHEREAS, Captain Paulson was Station 1 engineer for several years taking care of
apparatus and building maintenance and SCBA.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE JT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Mounds View
hereby extends its appreciation to Captain Floyd Paulson for his many years of dedicated and loyal
service to the Spring Lake Park/Blaine/Mounds View Fire Department.
