CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION TO FORMALLY REJECT THE EMERGENCY PLANS FOR TOWNS EDGE,
COLONIAL VILLAGE AND MOUNDS VIEW MANUFACTURED HOME PARKS
WHEREAS, the City'S Emergency Seryices Officer, Dave Brick,
together with Ramsey County's Emergency Services Director, William
Conter have reviewed the emergency plans for Towns Edge
Manufactured Home Park, Colonial Village Park and Mounds View
Manufactured Home Park; and
WHEREAS, each of the plans designate shelter sites that are
inadequate to serve the emergency needs of the residents of the
three parks; and
WHEREAS, the current plans do not designate sites which are
large enough to accommodate the possible numbers of people who may
come to the site during an emergency; and
WHEREAS, the plans also do not designate sites which are
accessible in terms of appropriate distance or hours of operation;
and
WHEREAS, the current emergency plans have been determined to
be inadequate to meet the emergency needs of the residents of the
three aforementioned manufactured home parks.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the City Council in and
for the City of Mounds View does hereby reject the current
emergency plans for manufactured home parks: Towns Edge, Colonial
Village and Mounds View Park.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT, the City Council requests that
Ramsey County begin the process of evaluating the emergency needs
of the residents of the three parks and works with all interested
parties to develop a plan which will provide for the safety and
well being of the residents of the manufactured home parks within
the City of Mounds View.
