RESOLUTION APPROVING MEMBERSHIP IN THE NORTH METRO MAYORS
ASSOCIATION AT THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE MOUNDS VIEW ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the members of the Economic
Development Authority that the benefits of membership in the North
Metro Mayors Association will contribute to the advancement of the
commonly shared economic development goals of the city and the EDA;
and .
WHEREAS, the North Metro Mayors Association is an organization
composed of north Metro communities' who have joined together for
the promotion and protection of the economic viability of the north
Metropolitan area; and
WHEREAS, membership in the organization will provide another
valuable resource for the city of Mounds View to utilize in its
newly emerging program for economic development/redevelopment and
preservation of the quality of life that is valued by residents and
businesses; and
WHEREAS, the North Metro Mayors Association is viewed as a
positive step in the on-going commitment to cooperation and
collaboration with other local units of governments who are
dedicated to the same regional goals and objectives; and
WHEREAS, the North Metro Mayors Association has been very
successful in recent years in turning Legislative attention to the
positive economic environments of the north metro area; and
WHEREAS, the Association has also been successful in lobbying
against legislation which could have been very harmful to the
economic viability of the north Metro area;
WHEREAS, membership in the organization will provide the City
with additional mechanisms by which to accomplish its own economic
goals and objectives.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council in and
for the City of Mounds View does hereby approve membership in the
North Metro Mayors Association, effective June 1, 1994, at a pro-
rated cost of $3,495; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City council views
participation in the North Metro Mayors Association as an economic
administrative expense to be reimbursed by the Mounds view Economic
Authority; and

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED THAT the City Council does, hereby
approve a budget transfer of $3,495 from Account No. 100-2100-606
(Fund Balance - Designated for Ensuing Years Budget) to Account No.
100-4100-303.
