CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF :MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION CONIMENDING MARVIN JOHNSON JR.
FOR IDS EXCELLENCE IN THE FACll.lTATION OF CITY
ATHLETIC SPACES FOR VARIOUS COMMUNITY
GROUPS AND ASSOCIATIONS
WHEREAS, Marvin Johnson Jr. is responsible for the
scheduling of all city:<>wned and managed park spaces and facilities for use
by residents, churches, community organizations, businesses and City
sponsored activities; and
WHEREAS, Marv has coordinated the availability of park
spaces for many groups who wish to sponsor special events; 3l1d
WHEREAS, Marv has managed to coordinate facilities
amongst several groups so that the park spaces can be used by the most
people at their fullest extent;. and .
WHEREAS, Marv has been particularly singled out by the
Mounds View Athletic Association for his coordination and support in the
facilitation of Silver View Park for the Regional Baseball Tournament July
24 - 26; and
WHEREAS, Marv has been instrumental in facilitating the
Mounds View Athletic Association's schedule of games and practices; and
WHEREAS, the President of the Mounds View Athletic
Association has sent a letter of appreciation to the City of Mounds View
commending Marvin Johnson Jr on his assistance in the organi7.ation of the
Regional AAU Baseball Tournament; and
WHEREAS, Marv coordinates athletic competition spaces on a.
year-round basis with such other associations including the Mounds View
Swim Qub, Irondale Basketball Association, Mounds View/New Brighton

-Soccer Association, North Suburban Church League,. North SuburbanGirPs
Fastpitch Association, as well as over 110 in-house adult softball teams, 27
instructional youth baseball/softball teams, 14 youth soccer teams, 16
volleyball teams, 4 flag football teams,. 7 instructional basketball teams, 7 4-
Man Football teams,. and on,. and on and on.......
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City
Council of the City of Mounds View commends Marvin Johnson Jr. on his
excellence in customer service in regards to making available the athletic
spaces of the City for use by residents to enjoy, and in addition supports
the various organizations with his expertise in the permitting process,
facilitation of athletic play areas,. tournament scheduling and other
arrangements that makes tournaments a success.
