CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION REQUESTING RAMSEY COUNTY PURSUE THE FEASIBILITY OF
CREATING A SCHOOL SPEED ZONE ON COUNTY ROAD I NORTH OF
PINEWOOD SCHOOL
WHEREAS, the current rate of speed and lack of proper signage on County. Road I is
posing a safety hazard for the children who attend Pinewood School; and
WHEREAS, it is requested that Ramsey County install signage which would reduce the
speed limit and warn motorists they are in a school zone; and
WHEREAS, changing County Road I from a 4 lane highway to a 2 lane street with a
center turn lane would contribute to a safer school zone as well; and
WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View will work cooperatively with Ramsey County to
help achieve these goals.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Mounds View City Council urges Ramsey
County to implement these requests to create a safe school speed zone on County
Road I North of Pinewood School.
