CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION ENCOURAGING THE CONSTRUCTION OF A LIBRARY
IN MOUNDS VIEW
WHEREAS, since 1985 the City of Mounds View has
consistently supported the construction of a Ramsey County
Library in Mounds View; and
WHEREAS, a Facilities Plan prepared by Ramsey County
library staff in 1983 recommended a branch library be built
in Mounds View at or near the intersection of Long Lake Road
and Trunk Highway 10; and
WHEREAS, the Ramsey County Public Library Facilities
Plan and Recommendations dated April, 1987 recommended a
branch library of 7,000 sq. ft. be built in Mounds View; and
WHEREAS, the Ramsey County Library Board and Ramsey
County Board of Commissioners have both approved said plans
and selected Mounds View as the location for a branch
4It library; and
WHEREAS, the citizens of Mounds View, through their
property taxes, contributed over $120,000 to the operation
of the Ramsey County Library System in 1988; and
WHEREAS, since no branch library facility is located
in Ramsey County west of Interstate 35W, Mounds View
residents are forced to use already overcrowded Anoka County
Library facilities more frequently than Ramsey County
facilities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Mounds View encourages the Ramsey County
Board to proceed with the acquisition of land and
construction of a branch library in Mounds View.
Adopted this 23rd day of January, 1989.

held on the 23rd day of January, .1989, at 7:00 p.m., in the City
of Mounds View, Minnesota.
Council members present: Wuori, Blanchard, Quick, Mayor Hankner

A copy of a resolution adopted by the City Council of the City
of Mounds View at said meeting.
I, City Clerk-Administrator of the City of Mounds View, Minnesota, do
hereby certify the following:
Attached hereto is a true and correct copy of a resolution on file and of
record in the offices of the City of Mounds View, which resolution was adopted by
the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Minnesota, at the meeting referred
to above. Said meeting was a regular meeting of the City Council, was open to the
public, and was held at the time and place at which meetings of the City Council
are regularly held. Council Member Blanchard moved the adoption of the attached
resolution. The motiion for adoption of the attached resolution was seconded by
Mayor Hankner. A vote being taken on the motion, the following voted in favor of
the resolution:

and the following voted against the resolution:
None
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. The attached
resolution is in full force and effect and no action has been taken by the City
Council of the City of Mounds View which would in any way alter or amend the
attached resolution.
