Resolution No. 5117
CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
County of Ramsey
State of Minnesota
A resolution setting forth a tentative timetable for preparing and adopting the 1998 budget
and long term financial plan.
WHEREAS, the City's Charter and Code, as well as State Statutes set forth various
requirements for considering and adopting the City's budget; and
WHEREAS, Section 7.04 of the City Charter requires the City Clerk-Administrator to submit to
the Council a budget calendar to be established by resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Mounds View,
Minnesota that the following budget and long term financial plan calendar is hereby adopted:
May 12 City Council adopts budget calendar.
By June 16 Departments submit proposed 1998 budget & L TFP to Finance.
June 16 ~ July 11 Finance Dept. and City Administrator review budgets & L TFP.
July 14 - August 1 Dept. heads review budgets & L TFP.
August 4 - Sept 5 Council review of budget and L TFP:
August 4th work session
August 11th 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
August 18th special work session
September 2 work session
Council adopts preliminary budget and maximum levy.
Additional Council meetings as needed.
City distributes budget newsletter.
Council holds informational meeting on the 1997 budget & L TFP.
Truth in taxation hearing and adoption of 1998 budget, tax levy and
L TFP (dates dependent upon County & School District selected
dates ).
