CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION APPROVING CONSTRUCTION MANAGER
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW AND
FLANNERY CONSTRUCTION FOR CONSTRUCTION
MANAGEMENT SERVICES IN CONNECTION WITH THE BEL
RAE COMMUNITY CENTER PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK-ADMINISTRA TOR TO
EXECUTE THE CONSTRUCTION MANAGER AGREEMENT
ON BEIIALF OF THE CITY
WHEREAS. the City Council ("Council") of the City of Mounds View ("City") has
detcrmincd that it would bc in the best interest of the City and the most cost cffcctive usc of City
resources and funds to retain thc services of a professional construction manager with experience
in construction management to represcnt the City and to \-vork with the City's architcct in
coordinating and ovcrsceing all the construction work that will bc done as part of the Bel Rae
Community Ccnter projcct (the "Project"). including coordination with any such othcr privatc
developmcnt that may occur on the sitc such at the V.B. Digs proposed projcct; and
WHEREAS. thc Council has determincd that Flanncry Construction. Inc. ("Flanncry
Construction") has expericnce in providing construction management services in conncction with
construction projccts such as the Projcct being undertaken by the City. including specific
expcricnce and expertisc in dealing \-'lith childcarc facilitics: and
WHEREAS. Flannery Construction is familiar with the proposed Projcct and is able to
meet the very rapid timcline as established by the City for preparing lease space for the Childrens
l-lome Society and the Mounds View School District; and
WHEREAS. the City Clerk-Administrator and City Attorney have negotiated a proposed
construction managcr agreemcnt between thc City and Flanncry Construction;
NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED. that the Council hereby approves the proposed
contract for construction manager services betwccn the City and Flannery Construction; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council hereby authorizes the Mayor and City
Clerk-Administrator to execute the construction manager services agreement between the City and
Flannery Construction on behalf of the City.
