<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RESOLUTION NO. .51'55 <br /> <br />APPOINTING THE SPRING LAKE PARK FIRE <br />DEPARTMENT, INC. BOARD OF DIRECTORS AS THE <br />FIRE CODE BOARD OF APPEALS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Uniform Fire Code, Section 103.1.4, requires that a Fire Code Board of <br />Appeals be created by the City Council and hold office at their pleasure; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the best interests of the City and its citizens are served by having a Fire <br />Code Board of Appeals which is experienced in and knowledgeable of fire operations and <br />related building materials and standards, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Spring Lake Park Fire Department, Inc. Board of Directors consists of <br />knowledgeable people who could capably serve as the Fire Code Board of Appeals, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View <br />that the Fire Code Board of Appeals: <br /> <br />1. Shall consist of five members of the Spring Lake Park Fire Department, Inc. Board of <br />Directors who are qualified by experience and training to pass judgment upon pertinent <br />matters; <br /> <br />2. Shall determine the suitability of alternate materials and types of construction and <br />provide for reasonable interpretations of the provisions of the Fire Code; and <br /> <br />3. Shall adopt reasonable rules and regulations for conducting its investigations and shall <br />render decisions and findings in writing to the Fire Chief, with a duplicate copy to the <br />appellant. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire Chief shall be an ex-officio member and <br />shall act as secretary of the Fire Code Appeals Board. <br /> <br />PASSED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View this 8th day of September, 1997. <br /> <br />~;y~ <br />' ))tkL{ <br /> <br />Duane McCarty, Mayor <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />cJ1 ~ (d~. <br />Chuck Whiting, City A inistrator <br />
