HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 8024 RESOLUTION 8024 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA ACCEPTING WORK FOR LAMBERT PARK SHELTER CONSTRUCTION AND AUTHORIZING FINAL PAYMENT TO EBERT CONSTRUCTION COMPANY WHEREAS, the existing Lambert Park building was built approximately thirty years ago as a garage, then converted into a warming house in 1987, and was in need of replacement; and WHEREAS, TKDA was authorized by the City Council on May 9, 2011 to design and prepare bidding documents for the Lambert Park building demolition and reconstruction (Res. 7780); and WHEREAS, the City Council approved bidding documents and authorized advertisement for bids for the project on July 27, 2011 (Res. 7806); and WHEREAS, seven sealed bids were received on August 4, 2011 ranging from $307,800 to $439,000 for the Base Bid; $11,304 to $27,800 for Alternate No. 1; $735 to $2,800 for Alternate No. 2; $8,365 to $13,908 for Alternate No. 3; and $9,015 to $10,700 for Alternate No. 4; and WHEREAS, Ebert Construction of Corcoran, Minnesota submitted the low bids for the Base Bid and Alternate No. 1, 2, and 3 for a combined total bid price of$328,204; and WHEREAS, the City Council awarded a construction contract for the project to Ebert Construction Company for$328,204 on August 8, 2011 (Res. 7817); and WHEREAS, Ebert Construction Company has successfully completed all project construction and met all other contract requirements for the project for a final construction cost of$336,334.17; and WHEREAS, City staff and TKDA recommend accepting the completed construction work and issuing final payment for$3,641.58 to Ebert Construction Company. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: 1. All work completed under the contract between the City and Ebert Construction Company for construction of the Lambert Park Shelter Project is hereby accepted and approved. 2. The Finance Director is authorized to issue final payment of $3,641.58 to Ebert Construction Company for completing construction of the project.
