CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
County of Ramsey
State of Minnesota
A resolution modifying the 1998 Cable TV budget
WHEREAS, the City receives a franchise fee from cable TV subscribers within the City that can
only be used for Cable TV functions;
WHEREAS, the City adopts a Cable TV budget with a large emphasis being on televising City
Council meetings;
WHEREAS, the City's existing equipment is approximately ten years old and is reaching the
end of its useful life and the quality of the City's broadcasts are falling below other
programmmg;
WHEREAS, the City has reserves in the Cable TV Fund in excess of $130,000; and
WHEREAS, the City can obtain three remotely controlled digital canleras and replace mixers,
switchers, controllers and some audio for less than $50,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Mounds View,
Minnesota that the 1998 Cable TV capital improvement budget is hereby increased by $50,000.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the City Administrator is hereby authorized to advertise for
replacement and installation of said equipment, and to award the contract to the lowest
responsible bidder provided the amount does not exceed $50,000.
