COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE RESIGNATION OF COUNCILMEMBER PAT
RICKABY AND DECLARING THE SCHEDULE FOR A SPECIAL ELECTION AS
PRESCRIBED BY THE CITY CHARTER
WHEREAS, Councilmember Pat Rickaby has submitted a letter of
resignation from the City Council effective July 1, 1993; and
WHEREAS, the vacancy created by Councilmember Rickaby's departure
must be filled in the manner prescribed in the City Charter; and
WHEREAS, the City Charter stipulates that when there are more
than 365 days remaining in a Councilmember's term who has vacated their
office, a special election must take place within 90 days.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that, the City Council in and for
the City of Mounds View does hereby declare the following:
1. The resignation of Councilmember Pat Rickaby is hereby
accepted effective July 1, 1993.

A Special Election will be held on August 24, 1993 to fill the
Council seat vacated by Councilmember Rickaby.
3. The required legal notification for the special election will be
published in the City's legal newspaper, The Bulletin, on
June 23, 1993.
4. Filing for candidacy will open on Tuesday, June 22, 1993 at 8:00 a.m.
and will close on Tuesday, July 13, 1993 at 4:30 p.m.
5. Polling place will be the Bel-Rae Ballroom, 5394 Edgewood Drive,
Mounds View, Minnesota.
6. Polls will be open to cast votes from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
on August 24, 1993.
Adopted this 14 day of June, 1993.
