RESOLUTION PRESENTING "SALUTE TO YOUTH AWARD'" TO TRI-CITY RED
AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL TEAM FOR AN OUTSTANDING SEASON ,
WHEREAS. under the direction- of Coach Mark Kalata, the Tri;.City Red American
Legion Baseball Team, made up of ,16-18 yearold boys from Mounds View and New
Brighton, won the 1993 Minnesota State American Legion baseball tournament; and ",'

WHEREAS, the Tri-City Red advanced to the Great Pla'ins Region Nation'al'tournament
in Jamestown, North Dakota, by winning the State tournament and the District 4
championship; and

WHEREAS, the Tri-City Red won their first two Regional games but eventually were
defeated 7-6 by the National Champion, Rapid City, South Dakota; and

WHEREAS, through dedication and hard work, the players and coaches achieved high
goals and finished the season with an overall record of 44-12.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Tri-City Red American'Legion baseball
team be commended for an exceptional season.
