RESOLUTION NO. 4736 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONTINGENCY FUND TRANSFER TO THE POLICE CRIME PREVENTION ACCOUNT WHEREAS, the Council has supported the Drug Awareness Resistance Education (DARE) program since 1993; and WHEREAS, the City's current DARE Officer, Tom Baumgart, has proposed a plan to secure, via community and individual donations, a vehicle from Saturn of St. Paul, Mounds View dealer, which will be. a dedicated DARE/Community Oriented Policing Vehicle; and WHEREAS, the vehicle must be released from the Saturn dealership no later than March 23, 1995; and WHEREAS, in order to release the vehicle to the City, a total of $5,000 must be paid to Saturn as a down payment; and WHEREAS, donations to date are $4,000 short of the required $5,000; and WHEREAS, Officer Baumgart has cash commitments of $1,000 from businesses and additional contributions of $2,350 which will be paid mid- April; and WHEREAS, it is anticipated by Officer Baumgart that the total amount for the vehicle will be received from donations; and WHEREAS, in order to release the car to the City by March 23, 1995, it is necessary to secure $4,000 in an inter-fund transfer from Contingency Account to the Crime Prevention Account, 100-4202-303; and WHEREAS, it is recognized that the City will be repaid the $4,000 from funds received from the expected donations. . . . RESOLUTION NO. 4736 PAGE TWO OF TWO NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council in and for the City of Mounds View does hereby authorize the City's DARE Officer, Tom Baumgart to secure a dedicated DARE/Community Oriented Policing vehicle, paid for by community and individual donations; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City Council in and for the City of Mounds View does hereby authorize an interfund transfer of $4,000 from the Contingency Account to the Police Crime Prevention Account (100-4202- 303) with the understanding that the funds will be repaid from the anticipated donations, as per the proposal outlined by Officer Baumgart.
