RESOLUTION NO. 4813 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION ORDERING THE ABATEMENT OF A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND HAZARDOUS BUILDING LOCATED AT 7618 EDGEWOOD DRIVE IN THE CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW WHEREAS, the City Council, by Resolution no. 4590, ordered the abatement of a public nuisance and hazardous building at 7618 Edgewood Drive; and WHEREAS, by an order dated September 8, 1994, a court order was issued ordering the owners of the property at 7618 Edgewood Drive to abate the public nuisance and hazardous building by making certain corrections on the property; and WHEREAS, two of the four units on the property are vacant and have been abandoned by the tenants; and WHEREAS, the two vacant units are unlocked and evidence of burnt pieces of paper and garbage have been found in the vacant units; and WHEREAS, the housing inspector has determined that there is a potential fire hazard as a result of the accumulation of matches, paper and garbage in the unoccupied units; WHEREAS, potential fire and safety hazards exist in the two unoccupied units as a result of the accumulation of debris and as a result of trespassers entering the unoccupied units; WHEREAS, the owner of the building has abandoned the property and cannot be located; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View as follows: 1. The two unoccupied units located at 7618 Edgewood Drive in the City of Mounds View constitute a public nuisance within the meaning of Minnesota Statutes, Section 561. 0 1, Section 561.02 and Chapter 604 of the Mounds View city code. 2. The clerk-administrator or her authorized designee is directed to remove all debris that constitutes a safety or fire hazard in the two vacant units and to board up the two vacant units located on the property so that they are inaccessible by trespassers or other persons.
