CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MS. SUSIE KAISER TO CONDUCT COMMUNITY
FOCUS GROUPS AS PER THE PROPOSAL OF THE COMMUNITY
CONNECTIONS COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, on February 27, 1995, the City Council appointed the City
representatives to the joint City/School District which became known as the
Community Connections Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Committee was charged with exploring the feasibility of
additional educational and recreational facilities at Edgewood Middle School; and
WHEREAS, the Committee has determined that a broader examination of the
educational, recreational and social needs of the community is required before a
recommendation can be made as to the feasibility of a joint facility; and
WHEREAS, the Committee has proposed that focus groups be conducted by
Ms. Susie Kaiser during the months of October and NOvember and consist of the
following group:

Families with elementary, middle and high school students
Families with pre-school children
Students of elementary, middle and high schools
Senior citizens
Educational and social service providers
Customers of adult educational and recreation programs
Business representatives; and

WHEREAS, the results of the focus groups will be presented to the City
Council at the December, 1995, Work Session.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council in and for the City
of Mounds View does hereby authorize Ms. Susie Kaiser to conduct community focus
groups as per the recommendation of the Community Connections Committee.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all expenses are to be split evenly with
School District 621 and the City's portion of the expenses to be paid out of account
1 00-411 0-303.
