<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 4843 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AMENDING THE 1995 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO PAY <br />FOR THE CITY'S PORTION OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE PEDESTRIAN <br />BRIDGE OVER HIGHWAY 10 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View approved in Resolution No. 4531, the <br />submission of a grant application for TEP ISTEA funds for a pedestrian bridge across <br />Highway 10 because of the many benefits such a project would offer to the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City further resolved in Resolution No. 4531 to commit to 20% <br />of the cost of the bridge if the grant were awarded; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City was awarded the 80% grant by the Transportation advisory <br />Board of the Metropolitan Council in August 1994; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the time parameters for construction of the pedestrian bridge <br />require staff to prepare a project memorandum and design which must be submitted <br />for review to the Department of Transportation and then be forwarded to Washington, <br />D.C. for review by the federal government; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the construction of a pedestrian bridge over Highway 10 at Long <br />Lake Road would offer'residents a place to safely cross over the highway on bike, <br />foot, in wheelchair or on rollerblades; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the construction of a pedestrian bridge over Highway 10 would <br />encourage residents to access local businesses, the library, schools, parks and <br />churches as pedestrians or bikers; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the pedestrian bridge would complete the missing link in the City's <br />trailway system for those who enjoy recreational walking and biking; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the pedestrian bridge would provide an attractive focal point for the <br />City, in it's downtown area, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of <br />Mounds View does hereby approve amending the 1995 budget to allow for the <br />following transfers of funds to Account No. 680: <br />
