<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 5390 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR MUL TI-.JURISDICTIONAL <br />LA W ENFORCEMENT TRAINING CENTER <br /> <br />WHEREAS, well-trained peace otticers are better ahle to assure their own safety <br />and the safety and constitutional rights of our citizens; and. <br /> <br />WHEREAS. maintaining proticiency in high-liability peace officer activities. <br />including confrontation management. use of force and lawful searches and arrests. is a <br />prudent safeguard against expensive litigation and civil lawsuits; and. <br /> <br />\VHEREAS, adequate training Hlcilities for unique peace officer skills can bc <br />most economically and efficicntly provided through the cooperative efforts of several <br />ncighhoring jurisdictions; and. <br /> <br />\VHEREAS, funds have heen provided in the 1998 Minnesota State hudget for a <br />feasibility study on the devcIopment of a consolidated lmv enforcement center in the <br />northeast metropolitan Twin Cities area; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council direct and <br />authorize the Chief of Police to participate with representatives from other governmental <br />jurisdietions in helping to plan and coordinate the development of such a raci lity. <br /> <br />Adopted this 22nd day of November. 1999. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I- <br /> <br />dm i n i strator <br /> <br />(SEAL) <br />
