RESOLUTION St.:Bl\'IITTING PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO
THE MOLNDS VIE\V CITY CHARTER AT THE
NOVEMBER 7.2000. GENERAL ELECTIOl\" A~D FIXING THE
FORl\-1 OJ< THE BALLOT FOR SUCH PROPOSED AMENDMENTS
WHEREAS. thc City Council of thc City of Mounds Vicw. pursuant to Minnesota Statutcs
Section 410.12, subd. 5, proposed Ordinances ()() 1 and 662 on June 5. 2000. to thc Mounds View
Chmier Commission for consideration; and
WHEREAS. the Mounds View City Chmiel' Commission considered thc amendments
proposcd by Ordinances 661 and 6()2 for more than 60 days and did not. bcfore the expiration of the
60-day period. rcquest additional time to review the proposed amcndments; and
WHEREAS. the City Council desircs to submit Ordinances 661 and 662 to City votcrs at
thc upcoming November 7.2000. Gcneral Election pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 410.12.
subd. 4.
NOW THEREFORE. BE TT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Mounds
Vicw, pursuant to Minn. Stat. ~ 410.12. subd. 4 submits to thc qualified voters at the Novembcr 7,
2000. general election Ordinance No. 661 proposing to amcnd various chaptcrs of the Mounds
Vicw City Charter relating to a City Managcr form of government and Ordinance No. 662
proposing to amend Chaptcr 2 of the Mounds View City Charter changing the term of officc of
Mayor from 1\vo (2) to four (4) ycars. and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Mounds View. pursuant
to Minn. Stat. * 410.12. subd.4. hereby fixes the form of thc ballot rcgarding proposcd
Ordinanccs 661 and 662 in the form attached hereto and incorporatcd hercin by reference.
