RESOLUL TION NO. 5528
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A TRI-CITY TASK FORCE
TO STUDY THE WATER QUALITY OF SPRING LAKE
WHEREAS, Spring Lake is located in three cities: Spring Lake Park, Mounds View and
Fridley; and,
WHEREAS, the residents living around the lake are concerned about the diminishing
water levels and corresponding water quality having an adverse impact on the plant and
animal life in the lake; and,
WHEREAS, there is a desire on the part of the residents to protect and improve the
water quality of the lake for recreational purposes; and,
WHEREAS, the three City Councils share the residents' concerns about the long-germ
viability of this valuable community resource; and,
WHEREAS, the efforts undertaken to improve and maintain the quality of the lake will
require a tri-city cooperative effort.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Spring Lake Park City Council,
supports the creation of a task force comprised of representatives from the three cities to
investigate and study the options available to maintain an acceptable water level and
improve the water quality of Spring Lake.
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED, that the Task Force shall make recommendations
regarding their findings to the three City Councils for consideration.
