COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF FIREARMS
WHEREAS, Standardization of police officer firearms is one of the goals and objectives set
forth in the police department's annual report dated May 14th, 2000;
WHEREAS, The Council has discussed and weighed the recommendation of
standardizing firearms at a previous work session;
WHEREAS, Money to fund the purchase of firearms necessary to accomplish
standardization within the police department was budgeted for the year 2001;
WHEREAS, All officers on the police department tested numerous makes and models or
weapons prior to recommending a standardized department weapon;
WHEREAS, A majority vote of officers resulted in the recommendation of the Beretta .40
Caliber model 96F sidearm with night sights and 3-magazines;
WHEREAS, Sealed bids for purchase were solicited from four supply sources;

WHEREAS, Streicher's Police Supply in Plymouth Minnesota submitted the lowest bid for
the purchase of twenty said firearms;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council for the City of Mounds View
approves the purchase of twenty of said firearms at a cost not to exceed $9,480.00.
