RESOLUTION NO. 5570
CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE MOUNDS VIEW CITY COUNCIL AND STAFF TO ABSTAIN
FROM TALKING WITH THE MEDIA REGARDING ALL ISSUES RELATING TO THE
TERMINATION OF THE GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT AND FINANCE DIRECTOR
WHEREAS. the Mounds View City Council voted to abstain from discussing with the
media any and all issues related to the termination of the Golf Course Superintendent and
Finance Director at its June 11,2001 City Council Meeting. and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney advised at that meeting that imminent potential litigation is
likely based upon recent correspondence from the former employees' attorney; and
WHEREAS, the City Council must speak with a unified voice in order to protect the best
interests of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council further discussed having all correspondence regarding this
matter addressed in Press Releases, created by Administration, reviewed by the City Attorney
and approved by the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mounds View City Council that the City
Council and employees of the City are hereby directed to cease discussing all issues as they
relate to the termination of the Golf Course Superintendent and Finance Director.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Mounds View City Council
that all information regarding this issue will be addressed in periodic press releases. created by
the Administrative Staff, reviewed by the City Attorney and approved by the City Council.
Adopted this 18tl1 day of June, 2001.
