CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPROVING TO EXTEND EMPLOYMENT ON TWO SEASONAL POSITIONS FROM
119 DAYS TO 185 DAYS IN THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Resolution 5546 requires that seasonal positions must be approved by
the Mounds View City Council; and
WHEREAS, Seasonal Employees benefit the City by providing labor services that are
relatively less expensive and are available during periods of greater labor; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Resolution 8070, Staff was authorized to hire 10
seasonal employees for 2013 (8 in Public Work Utilities Division and 2 in the Parks Division)
not to exceed 119 calendar days of employment; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department is requesting to extend employment on two
seasonal employees due to a full time Public Works Maintenance employee being placed on
medical leave under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and a resignation from seasonal
employee in the Parks Division.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mounds View City Council
authorizes Staff to extend employment on two seasonal positions (1 in Public Works Utilities
Division and 1 in the Parks Division) from 119 days to 185 days.
Adopted this 22nd day of July, 2013.
