HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 6557 r I . e ~ RESOLUTION NO. 6557 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA APPOINTING NICHOLAS FLEISCHHACKER TO A VACANCY IN THE SURFACE WATER DIVISION OF THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, Marla Manypenny, a Surface Water Division employee has submitted a letter of resignation, thus creating a vacancy in this division of the Public Works Department; and WHEREAS, Article 19 of the Labor Agreement between the City of Mounds View and the Public Works Department states that "permanent job vacancies within the department shall be filled based on the concept of promotion from within provided that applicants: have the necessary qualifications to meet the standards of the job vacancy and have the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job vacancy"; and WHEREAS, said vacancy was posted internally and interest in the position was expressed by Nicholas Fleischhacker, who currently works in Sewer Division of Public Works; and WHEREAS, the Public Works Director and Public Works Supervisor have met with Mr. Fleischhacker to discuss his interest and qualifications, as well as expectations for the position; and WHEREAS, the Public Works Director and Public Works Supervisor recommend that Mr. Fleischhacker be appointed to fill the vacancy in the Surface Water Division of the Public Works Department and that Staff be authorized to advertise for the vacant position in the Sanitary Sewer Division. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council does hereby appoint Nicholas Fleischhacker to the vacancy in the Surface Water Division of the Public Works Department effective June 27, 2005; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there will be no compensation adjustments, as this is a lateral move within the Public Works Department; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the City Council directs Staff to fill the vacancy in the Sewer Division left vacant by Mr. Fleischhacker's appointment to the Surface Water Division of the Public Works Department. . tJ e Adopted this 13th day of June 2005.
