RESOLUTION NO. 6422
CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A REPLACEMENT PICK UP TRUCK
WHEREAS, the City Council previously approved the purchase of a 1990
Chevrolet % Ton Truck: and
WHEREAS, said pick up truck has been in use for fifteen years and is
scheduled for replacement; and
WHEREAS, said truck can be replaced with a similar specification truck;
and
WHEREAS, a 2005 Ford F-250 Series % Ton, 4-wheel drive pick up truck
can be purchased from Superior Ford under state contract for $22.320.00
Tax, license, and transfer fees would cost an additional 51.484.30 and
WHEREAS, additional equipment, such as a safety cab protector and
strobe lights, are necessary to fully utilize said truck; and
WHEREAS, said equipment can be purchased from local equipment
supply companies in the amount of approximately $1 ,800; and
WHEREAS, the existing Unit NO.731, a 1990 Chevrolet % Ton Truck. can
be disposed of via auction at the next available opportunity and retains an
estimated salvage! trade-in value of S1 ,500.00; and
WHEREAS, the 2005 General Fund, Parks Vehicle Account (Account
100-4360-7030) has S28,000.00 budgeted for this pick up truck replacement
purchase.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows:
1. The purchase of a 2005 Ford F-250 Series % Ton, 4-wheel drive, pick up
truck is hereby approved.
2. A contract to Superior Ford in the amount of $23,804.30 for the purchase
of said truck. including tax, license. and transfer fees is awarded.
3. The purchase of necessary equipment for the Ford F-250 Series truck is
hereby approved.

4. The trade-in! salvage i disposal of the existing Unit NO.731, a 1990
Chevrolet, at a Government Auction at the next available opportunity is
hereby authorized.
