RESOLUTION NO. 6433
CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPROVING A CONTRACT WITH HEAL THPARTNERS FOR
EMPLOYEE GROUP HEALTH INSURANCE
WHEREAS, the City has purchHst~d employee group health insurance
frolll the Public ErTl[;loyees Insurance Progmm (PEIP) for many years; and
WHEREAS, the City utilized Johnson ivlcCClnn to survey the mmket
follo'/>lin\j a large inc'ease in premiums by PEIP for 200:': and
'vVHEREAS, two proposals were consider-ed and the ono from
HealthPartners was selectGd as superior; and
WHEREAS, Johnson McCann reccives cQmpensation for their services
as a commission on tho insurance policies paid directly from HealthPartnes to
Johnson McCann.
NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED. by the City Council of the City
of Mounds View that a contract with HealthPartnors to provide employee group
health insurance is hereby 3pproved and the Maym and City Administrator 3re
authorized to sign the agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the maximum city contribution to
employee benefits s>-'all be $672.30 per month. For ~m;pioyccs solectin,) thG Heallh
Savings Account Option, the city contribution to their ber~iJlits sholl bre the same
amount as ;,t would have beGn if they had selected \0 corresponding single or family
HMO h031th insurance option.
