CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPROVING A CONTRACT TO REPLACE THE MEDIA FILTERS AT WATER
TREATMENT PLANT NO.1
WHEREAS, Treatment Plant No. 1 was constructed in 1991 and
put on line in 1992; and
WHEREAS, media levels have declining throughout the years and
are now at a level which necessitates replenishing the media to bring it back to
correct operational levels; and
WHEREAS, Filtronics is the only supplier of this media and
therefore additional quotes were not possible; and
WHEREAS, the media replacement for Treatment Plant No. 1 is in
the amount of $32,923.00 including shipping but excluding tax; and

WHEREAS, the adopted 2005 Budget has $30,500 allotted in the
Enterprise Fund, under the water infrastructure and equipment department,
system maintenance account (account 700-4823-5160; and
WHEREAS, Staff recommends that any additional funds for this
project are recommended to be derived from the Enterprise Fund, water
infrastructure and equipment department, contingency account.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows:

1. That a contract with Filtronics to purchase and transport media
replacement for Treatment Plant NO.1 in the amount of $32,923,00
including shipping but excluding tax is hereby awarded.
2. That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and
directed to enter into a contract with Filtronics.
3. That the funds to finance this project will be derived from the
Enterprise Fund, under the water infrastructure and equipment
department, system maintenance account (account 700-4823-
5160) and that any additional funds that may be required are to be
derived from the Enterprise Fund, water infrastructure and
equipment department, contingency account.
