<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 4956 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING CITY ATTORNEY BOB <br />LONG'S CANDIDACY FOR LEAGUE OF MINNESOTA CITIES <br />FIRST VICE PRESIDENT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View has taken an active role within the League <br />of Minnesota Cities (LMC) organization; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mounds View city officials have served in leadership positions <br />within the LMC, including former City Administrator, Samantha Orduno, who served <br />as LMC Second Vice President until she took a position as City Administrator in <br />California at the end of 1995; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Samantha Orduno would have become LMC First Vice President at <br />the LMC annual meeting in June, 1996; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mounds View City Attorney Bob Long had previously served as <br />LMC First Vice President while he was a member of the St. Paul City Council and had <br />served as a member of the LMC Board of Directors for two years prior to that time; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City Attorney Bob Long has been encouraged by LMC Board <br />members to run for LMC First Vice President to offer his past experience as an <br />officer of LMC at a time when the positions of LMC President, First Vice President <br />and Second Vice President will all be vacant and up for election at the LMC Annual <br />Meeting in June; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City Attorney Bob Long has become a candidate for LMC First Vice <br />President; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View City Council desires to continue the City's active <br />role in leadership positions within LMC and believes that City Attorney Bob Long <br />would be an effective LMC First Vice President to fill the position that had been <br />previously held by City Administrator Samantha Orduno. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Mounds View City Council does <br />hereby express its support for City Attorney Bob Long's candidacy for LMC First <br />Vice President and requests consideration of the LMC Nominating Committee to <br />recommend Bob Long as LMC First Vice President at the LMC 1996 Annual Meeting. <br /> <br />(SEAL) <br /> <br />Adop~pd this 28th Day of May, 1996 <br /> <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />ayor <br /> <br />RCL104509 <br />KG400-11 <br />
