<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 4993 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE RENTAL OF THE BEL-RAE FACILITY FOR <br />PRIVATE USERS ON AN INTERIM BASIS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Economic Development Authority took ownership of <br />the Bel-Rae Ballroom land, building, furniture and fixtures located at 5394 Edgewood Drive <br />(facility) effective July 1, 1996; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff and City Council have been reviewing options for the <br />renovation and redevelopment of the facility for community center activities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View has received numerous requests to rent the <br />facility for banquets, musical events and church activities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an analysis of estimated costs and revenues has been prepared by staff <br />to ensure that rental rates cover costs of allowing private parties to use the Bel-Rae; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, private rental of the facility should not be in conflict with scheduled <br />City Events; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the ventilation system will be cleaned, panic bars on the back exit doors <br />will be working properly and no smoking signs will be posted prior to rental of the facility per <br />the recommendation of the Mounds View Building Inspector. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council, in and for the City <br />of Mounds View, does hereby authorize City Staff to develop a rental contract agreement with <br />the Mounds View City Attorney for the rental of the bel-rae facility on an interim basis; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council authorizes the City staff to <br />include the provisions per Attachment A as part of the rental agreement. <br /> <br />Adopted this 9th day of September, 1996. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br />(SEAL) <br /> <br />~ f." &JfEE <br /> <br />Clerk\City Admir istrator <br />
