RESOLUTION 8218 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> APPROVING BIDDING DOCUMENTS AND AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS <br /> FOR 2014 GROUND RESERVOIR REHABILITATION PROJECT <br /> WHEREAS, the 2,000,000 gallon reinforced concrete ground reservoir was <br /> constructed in 1968 and is a vital component of the municipal water supply system; and <br /> WHEREAS, the reservoir interior wall coatings and OSHA conditions were inspected <br /> and evaluated the as part routine maintenance in 2013, and revealed conditions that require <br /> unforeseen repairs and rehabilitation to the reservoir including interior structural repairs, <br /> interior steel coatings, exterior structural repairs, and coating of the exterior roof and flashing; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, on January 27, 2014, the City Council authorized KLM Engineering, Inc. <br /> (KLM) to perform engineering design and prepare bidding documents to rehabilitate the <br /> reservoir and address the deficiencies identified in the inspection report (Res. 8208); and <br /> WHEREAS, KLM has completed engineering design for the reservoir rehabilitation <br /> and prepared documents for a public bid solicitation. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br /> View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> 1. The bidding documents prepared by KLM for construction of the 2014 2MG Ground <br /> Reservoir Rehabilitation Project (City Project No. 2013-005) are hereby approved. <br /> 2. City staff is hereby directed to cause publication in the Sun-Focus newspaper and in a <br /> regional trade publication, at least ten days before the last day to submit bids, a notice <br /> to bidders for the implementation of said project as required by law. <br /> 3. The time and date for receipt of public bids for said Project is hereby established as <br /> 1:00 p.m., local time, Monday, March 10, 2014, at which time bids will be publicly <br /> opened and read aloud in the Council Chambers of the Mounds View City Hall. <br /> 4.
