RESOLUTION NO. 8226 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF ONE FORD POLICE INTERCEPTOR UTILITY <br /> VEHICLE AND ONE CHEV IMPALA SEDAN ALONG WITH SETUP COSTS FOR <br /> BOTH VEHICLES <br /> WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department maintains a replacement <br /> schedule of police vehicles to ensure that the police department can provide reliable <br /> quality service to the community with a dependable fleet of police vehicles, and; <br /> WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department planned and budgeted for the <br /> replacement of two squad cars in 2014 at $25,000 each plus equipment and setup <br /> costs of$6,000 totaling $62,000, and; <br /> WHEREAS, Nelson Auto Center in Fergus Falls has been awarded the state bid <br /> contract for the 2014 Ford Police Interceptor Police Utility vehicles at an approximate cost <br /> of$25,309 and Polar Chev is awarded the state contract for Chevrolet Impala Sedans at <br /> an approximate cost of $18,262, and; <br /> WHEREAS, a 2008 police squad car will be designated for sale at a future auction <br /> administered by the Admin Minnesota State Surplus Services. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br /> Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota to authorize the purchase of one 2014 Ford <br /> Police Interceptor Utility vehicle at an approximate cost of $25,746, plus setup costs of <br /> approximately $10,100 and to purchase one Chev Impala Sedan at an approximate <br /> cost $18,262, plus setup costs of $6,200 and to sell one older Ford Crown Victoria <br /> squad car through the Admin Minnesota State Surplus Services Auction. <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City <br /> of Mounds View that fifty percent (50%) of the acquisition and set-up costs for the 2014 <br /> Ford Police Interceptor Utility vehicle shall be paid from the Forfeiture Fund (225-4200- <br /> 7040.) <br /> Adopted this 10th day of March 2014. <br /> e Flaherty, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> cuokst <br /> James Ericson, City Administrator <br /> (seal) <br />
