- PROCLAMATION -
ABIDING SAVIOR LUTHERAN CHURCH
DAY
May 16, 2014
WHEREAS, Abiding Savior Lutheran Church is located at 8211 Red Oak Drive in the City of Mounds
View; and,
WHEREAS, this year, Abiding Savior is celebrating its 75th Anniversary of the establishment of its
congregation; and,
WHEREAS, in 1939, the congregation, then known as the Spring Lake Park Lutheran Church, began
holding services in the home of one the Township's residents; and,
WHEREAS, in 1940, the congregation constructed a permanent church facility at the northeast corner of
Hillview Drive and Red Oak Drive; and,
WHEREAS, 1 n 1973, having outgrown its space, the Church constructed and moved into its present
facilities at the corner of Red Oak Drive and Ardan Avenue; and,
WHEREAS, today, Abiding Savior Lutheran Church is a vibrant and active part of the community,
serving about 2,000 members in Mounds View and the surrounding region.
NOW, THEREFORE, it is with great pleasure and honor that I, Joe Flaherty, Mayor of the City of
Mounds View, in recognition of Abiding Savior's 75 years of community ministry, do hereby proclaim May 16,
2014, to be:
"ABIDING SAVIOR LUTHERAN CHURCH DAY"
