CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
Resolution Approving a Youth Golf Grant Request to the
Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce Charitable Gambling Committee
in the amount of $5,520
WHEREAS, there are funds available through the Twin Cities North Chamber of
Commerce to support youth recreation or athletic activities in the area; and,
WHEREAS, in cooperation with the YMCA, Bridges staff will create a program
which will provide golf opportunities for the youth in Mounds View as well as in
neighboring communities such as New Brighton, Spring Lake Park, Columbia Heights,
and Fridley.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council does
hereby authorize The Bridges Golf Course to establish a program for youth golf
administered by the Bridges Golf Course and the YMCA being funded by money obtained
through a grant from the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that City Council authorizes the
Golf Course to submit a charitable grant request to the Twin Cities North Chamber of
Commerce Charitable Gambling Committee.

Exhibit A: Youth Golf Initiative
Through this program, golf will be available to youth who are in programs
throughout the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce area. Youth whom are in need
of opportunities, which provide positive influence, will be offered this opportunity at no
cost.
The cities of New Brighton, Fridley, Columbia Heights, and Spring Lake Park wish
to have youth participate. The City of Mounds View will take the leadership rolls in the
administration of the program. The cities participating will be required to provide staff to
chaperone the youth.
The golf clinics will support 48 youth, each will receive four-hours of golf
instruction. The program will provide transportation to and from each community. The
sessions will take place at the practice facility at The Bridges Golf Course, Mounds View.
The PGA Professional Staff at the Bridges Golf Course will performed the instruction. The
maximum ratio of 8/1 youth to each teaching professional will give personalized attention
to all participants. A light lunch will be included for each participant.
