RESOLUTION NO. 6014
CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPOINTING KATHY BEDNAR TO THE
POSITION OF POLICE SENIOR CLERK TYPIST
WHEREAS, on January 13, 2003, the Mounds View City Council approved a
temporary arrangement allowing the Community Service Officer, Kathy Bednar, to work
full time, during the period of time in which the existing Senior Clerk Typist worked out
of classification fulfilling the duties of the Administrative Assistant position; and,
WHEREAS, a meeting of the Police Civil Service Commission was held on
March 11, 2003 concerning permanently hiring to fill the position of Senior Clerk Typist.
At this meeting various options for filling the position were considered. Ultimately, the
Police Civil Service Commission unanimously passed a motion to place Kathy Bednar
into the Service Register in the position of Senior Clerk Typist. This action would act to
serve as an internal promotion; and,
. WHEREAS, the Chief of Police and Deputy Chief have met with Ms. Bednar to
discuss her interest and qualifications, as well as expectations for the position; and,
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has evaluated Ms. Bednar's performance as a
full time employee, and based on this evaluation the Chief of Police recommends that
Ms. Bednar be appointed to fill the Police Senior Clerk Typist position as a permanent
full-time employee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council
does hereby appoint Kathy Bednar to the position of Police Senior Clerk Typist,
beginning at Step 5 of the pay range.
Adopted this 12th day of May 2003.
