RESOLUTION 8278 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A 2015 SERVICE TRUCK FOR <br /> THE WATER DIVISION OF PUBLIC WORKS <br /> WHEREAS, the City purchases vehicles and equipment for carrying out the various <br /> responsibilities and tasks of the Public Works Department and replaces the vehicles and equipment <br /> in accordance with the vehicle and equipment replacement program approved by the City Council; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Water Division of Public Works currently uses a 2002 Ford F250 service <br /> truck (Unit#706) to operate, maintain, and repair the drinking water distribution system and respond <br /> to service calls and utility locates; and <br /> WHEREAS, Unit #706 is programmed and budgeted to be replaced in 2014 in accordance <br /> with the vehicle and equipment replacement program; and <br /> WHEREAS, Public Works staff received a quote from Midway Ford of Roseville, through the <br /> State of Minnesota Cooperative Purchasing Venture, for a 2015 F350 4x2 super cab with 8' box for <br /> $27,245 plus tax and license fees; and <br /> WHEREAS, Public Works staff received a quote from Crysteel Equipment of Fridley, <br /> through the State of Minnesota Cooperative Purchasing Venture, for a service body and options <br /> including a V-MAC air compressor for$34,989.32 plus tax. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, <br /> Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> 1. The City hereby approves the purchase of a 2015 F350 4x2 super cab with 8' box for <br /> $27,245, plus tax and license fees, from Midway Ford. <br /> 2. The City hereby approves the purchase of a service body and options including a V- <br /> MAC air compressor for$34,989.32 plus tax from Crysteel Equipment. <br /> 3. Staff is directed to sell Unit #706 upon receipt and inspection of the above said <br /> purchases. <br /> 4. Monies for the above said purchases shall be paid from the Water Enterprise Fund (700- <br /> 4823-7030) for a combined cost of $62,234.32 (excluding tax and license fees), plus a <br /> 5% contingency amount of $3,100 for other miscellaneous and related items needed for <br /> a fully-functioning service truck, for a total maximum purchase cost of $65,334.32 <br /> (excluding tax and license fees). <br /> Adopted this 14th day of July, 201 . <br /> e Flaherty, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: CONU,d <br /> James Ericson, City Administrator <br /> SEAL <br />
