CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPROVING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT WITH ALLIED BLACKTOP COMPANY, INC.
FOR 2014 TRAIL & PARKING LOT PAVEMENT MAINTENANCE PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City has a pavement management program that includes bituminous
trails and parking lots; and
WHEREAS, the parking lots for the Community Center, City Hall, Random Park, and all
City bituminous trails except at Silver View Park be Fog Sealed; and
WHEREAS, Public Works prepared contract documents in house for the project in
accordance with industry standards, and solicited quotes from qualified contractors; and
WHEREAS, Allied Blacktop Company, of Maple Grove, Minnesota submitted the lowest
quote for$23,630; and
WHEREAS, City staff recommends approving a construction contract with Allied Blacktop
Company to perform the bituminous fog sealing work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View,
Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows:
1. The quote proposal for $23,630 submitted by Allied Blacktop Company of Ramsey,
Minnesota for the 2014 Trail & Parking Lot Pavement Maintenance Project (City
Project No. 2014-005) is hereby approved.
2. Public Works is directed to prepare a construction contract agreement for said project
at said price.
3. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed, for and on
behalf of the City, to execute and enter into a construction contract agreement with
Allied Blacktop Company.
4. Monies for the Project shall be funded by the Street Improvements Fund (485-4470-
7050) including $2,000 for restriping parking lots and a 10% construction contingency
of$2,400 for minor work associated with project unknowns.
