MotYon by Commissioner Buxmeister and seconded by � Commissioner Coplin to approve the minutes of t6e � April 25, 1974 meeting. The motion passed unmimously. Chairmen Baumgartner beg,an hie report by complimenting the Park and Recreation Department on their Summer Brochure, He also commented tt�at he hoped programs would be well received and succeseful. � � . Chairman Baumgartner proceeded to complimant the Public Wosks Superintendent and the Director oP Parks and Recreatian on the amount and quality of work completed rela[ive to parks. Commissioner Heake arrived at 6:40 P.M. LAKESIDE PARK The next item on the aganda - Iakeside�Park - . was introducedl,by the Ct�airman. Ha then turned tha discussion over to the Diractor, Doug�.Sryant, e�lw� presented his recommendation to terminata�the annusl wntribution to Lakeside. The Director also presented pout�ihle alteru�f,�.�+�ara aur� tunding and management. A diecussion"edaued. ` Mr. Bryant pointed out that he had tslked to th� Rameey County Park and Recreation Depastment sa� Lnkeeide Park and ehat there mny tis a poaeibilil they would tie intarasted in operating the Park. ' y' Commissioner Hodgae noted the importance oE holdin$ ' a public hearing on such a matter, Commissiones Haeke reca�uended that ehe Eee etruc- ture remain equal for both Moun3s Vieav and Spring Lalce Park, based on past contributions and devel- opment, whatever the alternative arrived at. .�� Chairman Ba�gartner, in view of the Directors discuaeion with Ramsey County as a possible alternative to funding and managing Iakeside Park, suggested tt�at Anoka Cowty Park and Recreatlon Departmant also be queationed ae to their potential interest. He further etatad that the Director present his findings at tha next City Council l�geada meeting on June 17th. POLICY OF FEES AND CHARGES Next, the Director o£ Parke and Recieation presented .�. a policy of fees and ciiarges rrhich aas l�andad out at the previous regular sesaion £or review. A brief discussion followed which reaulted in no cl�anges to the original policy. ��. SPRING LAKE/HAWKINS The Director of Parka and Recreation reported on the prograss of the Spring l.akelHawkins leaue. The Director atated ti�at the County hnd agreed to place a stop sign on Spring I.ake Road, moving one stop sign, installing no parking eigns. rsnd putting in crosswalka. He added tl�at the ownars oE the land just East of Spring Lske vere invited to a meeting to discuss possible solutioas to better adminiecer maintenance and policing o£ the area. All Ccmmiesion membera were invited to attend�also. Comniseioner Coplin and paeaed unanimously. �� Ct�airman Bamngartner proceeded to requeat the Director to contact the new members and ask for Gheir preaence at the next Commission maeting. INFORMATIVE ITSNS Cammiseionere received a rnpy oE the amended Subdivision Ordinance and the Activity Fund Ordinanca. The Director of Parks and Recreation discuesed both briefly and anawered any queatione. Next, Mr, Bryant raquasted faed back from Co�issionere on the eummer Brochure. Commente were loggad and would be used to Smprove the fall brochure which w�uld be mailed in August. JOINT POWERS A(2tEFM6NT Chairman Baimgartner pointed out that the Mounde View Baseball Association had requested minor improvements at the school baaebnll £ields. He added ttiat in order to facilitate these 3mprove- menta a joint powera agreement had to ba drawn up '? and agreed upon by the Mounde View School Hoard a 3 and the Mounds View City CounMl. .���-, The Director of Parke and Recreation pointed out that the agreement was in the procesa of being drawn up and it vrould 4e presented to the Yark and Recreation Co�mission beEore being forwarded to the City Council. � . � ' AQIUURI�NP Motion by Commissioner Haake and aeconded by .�� Co�issioner Coplin to adjourn the meeting, The motion passed unanimously.
