of Parks end Reczeation, Doug Bryant.
Approval of Ainuees Notion by Comnisstoner Xaake and seconded by
Co�issio�r Burmeister to approve the mtnutes
of the Auguat 2Z, 19�4 meettng. The motion
passed unanimously.
Chairman's Report Chairman Baumgartner reported that the Direc[or
. of Parks and Recreat3on =ubmiCted the requested
resolutfon endors3ng amendments to the LANCON
Program. The Chatzman pofnted out ihese
amendments wou2d erpand and pmvide a higher
priorfty for acqutsttion of dimtntshfng
natural resourcea tn urban count3es such as
Raasey.
Chairman Baumgartner stated tAat the Resolution

1975 Hudget The f3rst item on the agenda was the 1975 �
Park and Recreatfon eudget. Chairmui Haumgartner
called on the Disector of Paika end Recrealton
to present the amended budget reqveat. �
The Director progressed through the entfre
budget--re-exarmining and justifying each
phase of his request. Be explained ahere
the z�ecent cuts rere made and why. A discussion

Park Priorities
MASTSR PLA9 The Dirertor of Pazks and Recreation aaa
called opon to discuss park priorities-bond
issue-mester plan.
Bryant began by co�entfng that he had just
recenUy reviewed criteria for Federal and
State funding and the grea[ atgnificance
placed on a Master PZan by the NeLropolitan
Counci2 rhen consider3ng candtdatee for grmta.
Thezefore. based on his rev#ew. he suggealed
that the Park�and Recreatiom Comission table
tLe wrk for a bond issue until a five year
Baster Plar. could be camPleted. 6e £ell.�that
the pre2iminary wrk for a bond tssue ehould
include an updated lfaster Plan, rh3ch wuld �
point to an eventual bond iasue.
The Director auggested that insiead of a
professional planning agency doing the �vork
that the Park arid Recreation Co�isston a+d
t6e D3rector of Parks uid Recreatton co�apile
a Xaster Plaa. Be suggested using the 1970
Braver Study and the 1974 Midweat Planntng -
City Comprehenaive Plan to aid tham.
