10/24/74 Motion by Cormmissioner Burm¢ister cmd second¢d
by Cwmnissioner CopZin to ap�rove the mixutes of
the October 24, 1974 meeting. 2he motion paes¢d
un¢nimously.
Chairman's Report G7z¢irman Bawngartner eaZZed on the Director af
Parks and Recreation to report on the status of
the Joint Poruers Agreement betrueen the City of
Mounds Viem and SchooZ Distriet #621.
The Director stated that the agreement mas not
passed when presented to the aehooZ board. He
added that a feru minor changea had to be rmtde
by the City Attorney before finaZ approvaZ, whieh
he hoped ruouZd be made at the Janu�y 13, 1995
School Board meeting.
Next, Chairman Ba:angartner asked what the statue
mas of the tax forfested Zanda discuased at the
October 24, 1974 meeting (Code 59-00500-330-75).
The Director mentioned that the property raaa
�uaiting Council action and that he �uouZd discuas
the matter r,rith the Clerk-Acbministrator cmd
report at the next regu7ar session.
Chairvr,an Baw�agartner continued his report by
infozming Corm�isaiorrera that thia meetittg ar¢s
th¢ Zast regular aesaion of 1974. Ciutirm�
Baumgartner added that he and Commiaaioner ffiodges
�uould no Zanger be aeruing the City as Pcmk mtd
Recreation Commissioners and that their resig-
nation maa effective Januazy 1, 1975. A brief

mending ex officio membera Xip Lundquist and
Wayne WefZen as the neru Park and Recreation
Conemissioners (Reference to minutea of June 6,
19741 mho ruould serv¢ three year terms com-
meneing Jcmuary 1, 1995. 7'he motion aaas
seconded by Corrmri.saioner Peterson and passed
unanimously.
Bawngartner requested the Director to inelude
in the minutes all Corrami.ssioners terms and
their appointment date:

Before coneluding, Chairmm2 Bawngartner stated
that it had been a privilege and hanor to serve
on the Park and Reereation C"ormrtission and that
he appreci.ated the dedication and hard mork of
aZZ its members.
Commissionera reaponded mith their admiration
and appreciation for the trememdous contribution
made by Baumgartner and Nodgea to the development
and progress of the Mounda Vieru Park and
Reereation Department.
Master PZmz Ch¢irmon Bawirgartner called on Conmissioner Haake,
u�ho is also the PZanning Co�misaion Chairperson,
to present relative park atatements mhieh mere
incZuded in the neru City Comprehenaive Plan be.ing
deveZoped by Mir3uest Planning.
Cormni,saioner Haake proceeded to eover aZZ eriteri.a
in the ovemZl eity pZan re7ated to parks and open
space. Zt �uas generally agreed that the in-
forr�tion regarding parka cmd open space in the
eity plun should be synonymous mith the Park Master
Plan. Therefore, Conmri,ssiotters ruere requested to
analyae carefuZly these statersents and comment
at the next regular meeting, kops,fi�Zly arriving
at a uniform set of goals, objectivea, and
policies.

Comrrissioner Haake stated that th¢ Planning
Comnission ruas looking at a mid-January
cnn�Zetion date and suggeated that the Park cmd
Reereation Cormmission meet earlier. It �uas agreed
to establiah a special meeting for Januarg 9th
at 6:30 P.M. at th¢ City XaZZ.
N.S. Day Activity Center The Di.rector mas asked to reaeaNen the rvurt:
Suburban Day Activity Center whieh receivea
an annuat city donation. The Director stated
that he mould make a full report at the Jcmuamf
meeting.
Neru Park Site Chair�nan Bawngartner caZZed on the Director to
report on the possibilty of a ne�u p�k sit¢.
Bryant, through Zengthy correspondence, had
receiv¢d the c�praiaed value of the 8.41 acrea
juat north of Greenfield Park and aouth of
proposed H£glwray N10. This aatabtiahed value
�as 518,800.00. He atated that a Zetter i,�as
sent to the State of Minneaata shoming City
interest in the property and noting that �ue
ruould be inquiring in the near future as to
the availabiLity of this Zand to the City of
Mounds Vi¢ru.
Park Title Motion by Cormmissioner Peterson and seconded
by Corrmissioner Fedor to forar,aZZy mm�e the
city omned 8.8 acre site at the interaeet$on
of Ardan Avenue and Long Lake Road aa Ard�sn
Park. The motion paseed unanimousZy.
Subdivisians IAot�on by Cormrrissioner Haake and aeeonded by
Cormnisai.oner Burmeister to accept a cash
dedication for the BoZduc Subdiviaion. The
motion passed ao:animously.
Motian by Comnissioner Peteraon cmd seeonded
by Co�rmissioner Fedor to eaempt the Lmoaon
Subdivis£on from a land or caah dedication
becauae the subdivision di.d not meet minimum
requirements and therefore require the buyer
to meet the fuLZ obligation of the Subdivision.
