RESOLUTION NO. 6103
CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
Resolution Approving the Purchase of an Upgrade to the Automated Water
Meter Reading System
WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View has utilized an automated water meter
reading system operating over the telephone lines since the mid 1990s; and,
WHEREAS, the existing system is a DOS based system that the vendor,
Invensys Metering Systems will cease to support in the near future; and
WHEREAS, there is an upgrade available that will work with the installed base of
water meters and will be supported by the vendor; and
WHEREAS, the price quoted for the upgrade is $3,500 plus sales tax and
shipping; and
WHEREAS, a personal computer costing no more than $1,000 will also be
needed to run the software.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Mounds View that the purchase from Invensys Metering Systems of the automated
water meter reading system an amount not to exceed $4,000 and the purchase of a
personal computer for an amount not to exceed $1,000 are authorized from the Water
Fund.
