The Mounds View Parks and Recrea[ion Commisaion waa called
to order at 6:35 p.m. by Acting Chaizperson Wayne Burmeiater.
Commissioners present - Acting Chairperson Burmeiater,
Commi.ssioners Haake, Kuluvar, Pedor, Linke and Weflen.
Councilmember present - Councilmember Ziebarth.
Staff present - Director Anderson, Program Supervisor
Kvalheim and Landscape Architect Kampel.
Visitors present - Mr. and Mxs. Martin.
New Co�issioners Jerry Linke and Gordon Kuluvar were
welcomed and introduced to all present. Also welcomed
was Prank Kampel, a landscape archi[ec[ and temporary
staff inember. Frank is woxking on a B.A. from the U of N.
Commissioner Haake made a mo[ion to approve the minutea
as corrected, seconded by Cownissioner Fedor.
The motion passed.

Chairman's Report Ac[ing Chairperson Burmeister complimented Ci[y Forester,
Jack Shields on [he excellent news wlumn "dack's Jottings"
which appeara weekly in the New Btighton Bul.letin.
Councilman's Councilmember Ziebarth expreased interest in whether the
Garden Plat program was run for profit or whether the pzogram
will break even. birector Mderson assu=ed the Co�iasion
that the intent is a non-profit, low expenditure serviee
to the people.
Councilmember Ziebar[h also inquired abou[ the Lakeside
Park status. IC was repor[ed by Director Mderaon that the
ai[uation is presently being reviewed by Ramsey County Park
Department.
Vieitor Preaenta- Mr. and Mrs. Mar[in, 7951 Greenwood Drive expresaed concern
tlon of balls being hit over the boundary fence of Hillvtew Park
into their yard. Concern for privacy and poanible proper[y
damage was especially expresaed. After discuasion, the
Cot�ission decided to add an outfield fence 230 feet from
homeplate. Thia will hopefully detrnct the older youth from
playing at this field. The Hillview hockey boarda vill be
uned for the fencing.

City-Wide Nureery Director Anderson outlined the possibillty of a municipal
nusaery program, located i.n Remeey County at Poplar Lake.
The tree nursery would be federally fw�ded and maintained

way system in the City of Mounds View.
Co�lasioners reco�ended tha[ the trail fol.low Oaborne Road
to North[ocm and Coun[y Road I to Silver Lake Road and Spring
Lake Road as the basic corridore. Seccetary Coplin will
write thia letter of recommendation to the Metropolitan
Council on behalf of the Commisaion.
Program Supervlsor Kvalheim reviewed the Spring Yrogrem.
Toutnament S Pield Director Anderson preaented a preliminary policy for a
Rental Policy tournament and field rental policy. Upon discusaion, �
Commisaioner Haake made a motion Co survey other communities'
policiea in refezence to tournament and iield rental policias.
The preliminary policy recommendation vas tabled until after
the survey hae been completed and etudied.
Commiesioner Linke seconded the motion. The motion paeeed.

Co�isaioner's Co�issioner Haake announced the citizens Airport meeting
Report to be held April 5, 7:30 p.m. at City Hall and April 6,
8:00 p.m. a[ Blaine City Hall.
Staff Report Director Anderaon anno�mced the availability of the c3vi1
deiense iruc�: foz �...�...��z activi�+_?s. A1An_ Direc[or Andarson
gave anintroductory repor[ of [he 4[h Annual Featival in
the Park activities slated for Sunday, June 25.
Philosophy Director Andersan anno�mced [he application for a CBTA
project grant which would enable the staffing of at least
3 extza s[aff for up to one year. The CETA proposal would
fund three co�unity organizers to establish 6 neighborhood
councils to develop family and adutt special event progsams.

RE: C.E.T.A. Grants
Staff hae submitted three C.E.T.A. grant proposals for temporary staffing
during the coming year. The three proposals and a brief narrative are ae
€ollowa:
1. Su�r Park Laborers - The grant submitted through the S�mer
Youth Employment Program for four summer park maintenance men.
The grant would run from Tune 5- Auguat 11 and include a 40 hour
work week at $2.65/hour. The grant was preparea in conjunction
with the public worka department who applied for four men aleo.
The main responsibilities of the laborera would be mowSng, field
preparation, tot lot constructioa and weed control.
2. Su�er Clerical Aasistance - This grant was aubmitted through the
Su�r Youth Employment Program and we requested one high school
student to assist Pat during the peak summer uwnths. The period
inwlved would be June 5- Auguet 11.
3. Neiehborhood Leisure Councils - This grant proposal wae submitted
W Ramsey County C.E.T.A. through Title VI. The tocal requeat
including salariea, supplies and benefits was $37,280.60. The
graat would fund the hiring of three full-time community organizera
who would be reaponsible for the eatsblishment of 6 neighborhaod
councils.
Staff expacta to be notified during the next month conceraing the etatua of
eha grant proposals.

The City of Mounda View Parks and Recseation Department has received Lwo
donatio¢s during the past month. The first ia from the Moimda View
Jaycees who have donated $200.00 for the purchase of trees at Ardan Park.
The Jayceea have "adopted" Ardan Park as the site they would lilce to develop
over the next few years.
Staff has included a copy o£ the proposal [hat was submitted to the
Jayceea for their reviea in the April Resource file. It should be noted
that the $200.00 donation from the Saycees came from a grant proposal
from the national Jaycees and the money was "ear-marked" for conservation
or tree replacement.
The City also received a$100.00 donation from the Snowmobile Club during
the past month and the City Council has requested that we make a recommenda-
tion as to how it should be spen[.
After reviewing our existing needs for parks and recreation equipment,
Staff c.rould reco�end that the donation be used to purchase two picnic kits.
The picnic kita would be available to area residenta for use at family picnice,
seuniona, neighborhoad get-togethers, etc.
A breakdow of the necessary equipment and coets would be as followe:
1. 1Wo equipment bags @$15.00 $30.00
2. 2 Croquet sets @$20.00 40.00
3. 2 s¢t; nf rubber horseshoes @$10.00 20.00
4. 20 gunr.y sacks @loF 2.00
5. 2 wiffle footballs @$2.50 5.00
6. 2 viffle eoftball sets @$1.50 3.00
TOTAL $100.00
In addition Co the aforementioned equipment we would add carpet aquarea for
baees, a eoftball bat, floor hockey equipment and frisbeea.

There would be no charge for the picnic kit except a$5.00 deposit which �
wuld be refundable and replacement costs for any loet equipment. .

RE: Fence replacement alcng Red Oak Drive
Staff received a 2etter dated April 12 from Mt. William Lamppa, 5119
Red Oak Drive requesting that the aity replace his fence along the edge
of hie pmpetty because it had been damaged through park users.
After inspecting the site in question, there are 7 homes that abut the
eastern edge of Woodcreat Park. Of thoae homea, 4 have a fence boarding
the park perimeter.
Staff vould concur with Mr. Lamppa that his fence as well as others
along the park boarder could have been damaged by park users. The
�i particular fence in question is ao older wite fence 48" in height>
that the skatera have climbed over to retrieve pucics.

Before a decision ia made concerning the eatablishme¢t of a neighborhood
fence policy, Staff has prepared a list of gosaible considerationa.
1. If we set a precedent to replace one fence we will have to replace
all residents fences abutting park property in the future.
2. Staff does not feel that fencing each existing park area is
practical or feaeihle.
3. Fencea generally do not enhance the aeet6etic appearance of ehe �
neighborhood park syatem.
4. We would need to inetall at least a 6 foot fence to insure that
£i,ure pmbleme would be eliminated, vhich would be extremely
expansive.
5. Fe�aea should be used as a final alternative after all other
eolutiona have been exhaueted.
6. If we inatall juet one section of fencing we will only be
re-muting the existing traffic and not offering a long term
aolution.

to the parks from each direction7

Staff wrould recommend that fencing be inatalled along the eastern edge
of.tha hockey rink to eliminate future problems o£ pucka flying into the
neighbora backyar.d. .
SGaif wovld also recoomend that the homeowners fencing not be replaced along
tbe eaei edge of the property because of the coat, fu[ure precedent, length
r�2 hoc�cey rink hae 6een there and pasc pollcy.

HE: Softball tournament policy
A eoftball tournament queationnaire wae meiled to 20 municipalitiea
during the firet week in April. Of the 20 eurveys, 14 were returned
for an excellent 70X return rate. A copy of the eurvey reeults have
been attached for your review.
It appears through staffe peraonal conversationa, past experience and
the eurvey resulta that there ie no pattern or generally accepted
atandard tournament policy.
There are three major factore that deter�tne a tournament policy:
1. Sxieting demand oh facilitiee. �--
2. Field location, i.e. neighborhood homee, parking, maintemnce sad
police access.
3. Co�unities prevailing attitude wncerning the recreational vMlue ��
of weekend tournamente.
In regarda to the beer conceeaion iseue, etaff hae epokea with the City
Police Chief vho feels ehat weeken� tournamenta vould not cause any problems -.
fmm a policing etandpoint.
Staff would reco�end that e eofeball tournament policy be adop[ed on
a[rial basis to determine if problems would occur.

At the request oF the Bicentennial Co�ittee in 1976 [his area of City
Hall Park was prepared as a flower bed and planted with flowers in the
design of the United States flag. In 1977, at the request of a member
of this group this area was re-planted with prostrate-type J�mipers
which were purchased by thie group. Due to the slow growth rate of
this type of planting it will be a number oi years before the area ie
completely Filled in.
Since this area is very canspicuous from Highway 10 it is felt that [hia
planting area would�be put to better use if i[ were more decorative.
�'"") Therefore, i[ ie suggestes'. that the area be planted wi[h the initials Af V
`" against a contras[ing coloted background; perhaps with a border [o set off
the entire area from the aurcoundir.g turf. The "legs" of the letters
should be 24 inchea wide so as to be readily visible from fiighway 10.

After having conaidered several alternatives it was decided [hat the
following should provide a relatively maintenance free plan[ing, while
being decorative and colorful. Letters of white Alyssum, against a
background of redwood bark, and if desired, a border of Marigolds.
Decorative stones were considered for the background but was rejected
becavae of potential damage to the lawn mower, cara and [he lighted aig¢.
For the le[ters it is sugges[ed tha[ bedding plants be used and at a spacing
of 6" so the lettering will show up fast and thickly. I[ is estimated
that 700 bedding planta would be needed. If a border is used it is
suggested thaY it be 12 inchea wide and planted with dwarf Marigolds such
as Burpie's Brownie Scout Extra Dwarf French Marigolds. I[ is suggested
that these also be bedding plants. A spacing of 9 inches is suggested. The
es[imated number of plants necessary for the border is 300.
The cost of redcrood bark chips (medium or coarse) from R. L. Gould is $3.05
per 3 cubic fee[. The eatima[ed number of bags necessary for a 2" depth of
chips, if a border of Marigolds were used, is 29. The cost would be
$88.45. Prices for [he bedding plan[s can only be estimated at thie time:
51.00 retial for a pack containing 8-12 plan[s (@ 70C wholesale). If there
are 10 per pack the cost For [he bedding plan[s, at re[a11, would be $100.
The coet of black plastic is estimated at $21.50. The total cost is
estimated at $209.95.

The use of black plastic �mder the chips would make ehis decig::-nearly

The eveigreena praeently planted in the area would be moved to othes
loaatione i� the City'e Park Syatem, e.g., along the walk into City Hall,
at the baoe of ehe lighted sign in City Hall Park.
Staff hae beea in.contact with Sandy Shackle concerning this propoaal and
aha concurs that [he exieting situacion must be improved. Ma. Shackle sai.d
ahe would b� villing to work with the City staff in the development and
maintenance of the site.

During the past several months a series of ineetings have been held to�.` '" •
discuss Junior High/tliddie School outside facilities, and what could be
done to upgrade and improve present conditions. People present at these
meetings were:

The fottov» ng report is a summary of the opinions of the above listed people
as to how we can best renovate the Junior High/I4iddle School outside facilities
over the next four years. I feel the plan is a good one, and repre'sents a
tremendous example of what can be accomplisfied through mutual understanding `:
and cooperation. Please note that 522,000 has been included in this report for "
immediate renovations needed at the Senior High School level. This amount of
money is not to be construed as part of a long range plan For the Senior Highs,
but rather as an immediate expenditure to help balance out Districtiaide usage; '�+
and thus, promote better management and maintenance of the four Junior.High/Middle
School sites. I urould recommend that a study uf the trio Senior Nigh School sites
be conducted, and that recommendations are made based on the outcome of what is �.
approved for the four Junior Fligh/Middle School sites. 111so, please note that an
ir�depth report on the work to be done at each site will be provided by the various
City Park and Recreation Directors, along oiith a deta5led report on the in-kir.d:
eosts to be absorbed by the Cities. �•le feel the in-kind costs for the cities to
eomplete these projects �•�ill total approximately 5100,000 in manpower and equipment.
The exact breakdown of the in-kind cost for each city is approximately 25% of the
total cost of thc project each city is involv�d in., This estimate is b€sed on
documented costs of projects already completed.

John Mo¢a Pzooerty - Ramaey County Pazks and Recreafion Depar[ment recently
informed ataff [ha[ the County hae acquired Che Sohn hioga Homestead properLy
for a Comty Park. The Moga properry is located on Old Highvay 8 along Rice
Creek.
0¢e of [he ques[ions [hat the County has aeked us, is the his[orical
significance of [he ac[ual buildings. Accoxding [o our research the
buildinga are the oldest homes[ead in Che Ci[y of Mounds View, but they
are no[ archi[ecturally special.
The Co�mty will be recommending tha[ [he buildings be destroyed unless they
here othevwise. Zf you have any feelings conceming the restoration of [he
buildinge at the Moga propex[y� feel Free to contact oux office.
Lakeside Park - The Lakeside Patk program will run similar to past yeare�
�mder the direction of the Lakeaide Park Commission. Staff hae been working
with Councilmember Rowley to improve [he upcoming awimoing progras which will
be three seseions - three weeks in length in 1978.
We are very for[una[e to have Park Commieaioner Linke [o serve on both the
Ci[y Pazk and Lakeside Park Commiseions.
Office Relocation - Staff has moved their offices [o the basement uf City
Hall (we prefer to call it [he First floor). The �ve has proved to be a
great asset on developing ataff communica[ion as well as a vast improvement
over past office accommodations.
Joint Co�nunity Education Conference - I will be attending a conference on
May 3 and 4 a[ ehe Thunderbird Hotel concerning future coopera[ion between
co�unity education and municipal recreation. I will be preparing a report
fox [he i!ay Park Commission meeting to bring you up-to-date on the conference
highligher,
Ed7tewood ,Tr. Hieh - I have enclosed a proposal that will be presented to
School Board A621 members next week. As can be noted in the attached proposal
the City's share in future years is as follows:
1978 - 0
1979 -$25,000 (This is anticipated to be funded by a 5[ate grant)
1980 - $5,000
1981 - S6,000

Comprehensive Plan - Staif has been working on [he development of a time
line and plan of acHon for the Commissions review at the regul�zly scheduled
May meeting.
ParkB and Recreation Day - Staff has been working wi[h Noc[htown Shopping
Cen[er in the promotion of a co��mity recreation day at Northtown on
Sunday, May 21. We will be having a booth dlaplay, door prizes, program
demonetrations, a apecial "sport mneulting" booth and ar[s and ccaite
projecte for all shoppers.
Thete will be no charge for any of the scheduled activitiea.
Summar Bmchure - The summer brochure wlll be going [o preas on Monday, May 8
for delivary on May 12. Program Supervisor Kvalheim wili be repor[ing on the
upcoming e��mer programa at Thu=sday's meeting.
Adult Softball - The adult aoftball leagues have been finali.zed foc 1978,
the final league totals are:
1. Monday Mena Competitive - 8 ceams
2. Tuesday Womens Co�etitive - 8 teams
3. Wednesday Mens Recxeational - 8 teams
4. Thursday Womens Recreational - 6 teams
This is an increase of €our teams over last years pxogram.
The managers meeting is scheduled for May 2 with the season slated to begin
the week of May 8.

planning on having their annual dinner on Tlay 9 at McGuires Res[aurant. TFe

S[aff fias submi[ted three C.S.T.A. grant proposals foz [emporary staffing
during [he coming year. The [hree proposala and a brief narrative are as
followa:
1. Su�er Park Laborers - The grant submit[ed [hrough the S�r
Youth Employmen[ Progzam for four su�er park main[enance men.
T6e grant would run from June 5- August 11 and include a 40 houx
work week at $2.65/hour. The gran[ was prepared in conjunction
with tLe public works depar[ment who applaed for four men also.
--� The main responsibili[ies of [he laborers would be moving, field
prepatation, rot lo[ cons[ruction and weed control.
2. Su�er Clerical Assistance - This grant was submitted [hrou�fi the
Su�er Youth Employment Progran and we zequested one high school
student [o assist Pat during the peak s�wmer months. The period
inwlved would be .lune 5- August 11.
3. Neighborhood Leisure Co�mcils - This grant proposal was submi[ted
to Ramsey County C.E.T.A. through Title VI. The t�^_al requeet
including salaries, suppliea and benefits was $37,7_�.60. The
grant would funri tfie Mring o£ three full-time com�nunity organizers
who would be responaible £or the establishment of 6 neighborfiood
counc3ls.
Staff expects to be notified during the next rm�nth concerning the statua of
the grant proposals.

of his proper[y because it had been damaged through park uscrs.
Af[er iaspecting the site in ques[ion, there are 7 homes that abut tLe
eastern edge of Woodciea[ Park. Of [hose homes� 4 have a fence boarding
the park perimetez.
Staff would roncur with Mr. Lamppa [ha[ his fence as well as o[hers
aloag the park boarder could have been damaged by park users. The
particular feace in question is an older wize fence 48" in heigh[,
[hat the skatera have climbed over to re[rieve pucks.
Before a deciaion is made conceming the es[ahlishmen[ of a neighborhood
feace policy� Staff has prepared a list of poasible considerations.
1. If we set a precedenc [o replace one fence we will have to replace
ell residents fences abu[ting park propexty in the iuture.
2. Staff doea not feel tha[ fencing each exis[ing pazk area is
pracGical or feasible.
3. Fences generally do noC enhance [he aesthetic appearance of the
neighborhood pazk system.
4. We would need [o install at leas[ a 6 Foo[ fence to Snsure that
future problems would be eliminated, which would be ex[remely
expenaive.
5. Fences should be used as a final alterna[ive afCer all o[her
solutiona have been exhausted.

The edi[orial comes a[ an oppor[wie tiwe as we begin to review our plans
for fu[ure park development.
In addition to future park development we are presently e�cperiencing aome
vandalism and safety problems wich our [wo rornado slides. 5[aff feels tha[
[he [wo tornado slides are extremely dangerous no[ only from a height fac[ar
bu[ also an injury hazard because of [he mexal edges.

GENERAL
The park facilities of che City of Mounds View are pzovSded for che
wholesome leisure time pursuits of all residents. Correspondingly,
certain policiea are needed m insure che proper use and control of
facilitiea so tha[ all people may equally enjoy [hem.
RESERVATION OF BALL �IAMONDS
A. No permi[s for usage of ball diamonds will be issued before
April 1.
B. Permita will be issued only [o: ciric groups and organiza-
[ions whose use of ball diamonds benef3ts a civic purpose
or furthers the recreation of Mounda View residents; and to
recognized teams in city sponsored or sanctioned leagues.
C. Permi[s will be iasued for apprwed games or ac[SV1ries
primarily, and fox prac[ices or workouts when £ields are
available.
NOTE: If permita are au[horized for practices reques[ing
groups, organizations, on ceams may only reserve a maximum
of two practicea for no moie than 1 1/2 hours each prac[ice.
These users mus[ relinqulsh che field when [heir time expires
if another permi[ has been issued for the time immedia[ely
fallowing.
D. The use of ball diamonds are subject [o restrictions defined
in r.he City Code.

Hall Pazk vas prepared as a flover bed and plan[ed with flowere in [he
design of the Uni[ed S[ates flag. In 1977, at [he reques[ ot a member
of thie group [his area was re-plan[ed wirh pros[zate-type Junipers
vhich were puxchased by [hia group. Due [o the slow growth ra[e of
this type of plan[ing it will be a number of years before [he axea is
completely filled in.
Since this area is very conspicuous from Highway 10 it is felt that this
planting area would 6e pu[ to be[ter use if i[ were more decoratrve.
Therefore, it is auggested [ha[ [he area be planted wi[h [he ini[ials PI V
agains[ a contrae[ing colored backgromd; perhaps wi[h a border ro aet off
[he en[ire area fzom [he sucrounding turf. The "legs" of [he let[ers
should be 24 incFes wide so as to be readily visible from Highway 10.
Af[er having conaidered several altema[ives i[ was decided [ha[ [he
following should provide a rela[ively main[enance free plan[ing, while
being decorative and colorf�l. Le[[ers of whi[e Alyssum, against a
bar+.;eround of tedwood bark, and if desired, a bozdec of Marigolds.
Ilecorative stonea were considered for [he background bu[ was rejected
be_ause oF potential damage to [he lawn mower, cars and [he lighted sign.
For [he letteza it is auggested that bedding plants be used and at a apacing
of 6" co [he lettezing will show up fas[ and [hickly. It ia ea[imated
that 700 bedding plan[s would 6e needed. If a bordex is used it is
suggested tha[ it be 12 inches vide and planted with dwarf Marigolds such
as Burpie's Brownie Scout Ex[ra Drvarf French Marigolds. I[ ia suggesCed
tha[ these also be bedding plants. A spacing of 9 inches is suggea[ed. The
eatima[ed number of plants necessary For [he border is 300.
The coat of redwood bark chips (meclium or coarse) from R. L. Could is $3.05
per 3 cubic feet. The ea[ima[ed number of 6ags necessary for a 2" dep[h of
chips, if a border of Marigolds were used, is 29, The cosc would be
588.45. Prices for the bedding plan[s can only be eatimated at thie time:
$1.00 retial for a pack containing 8-12 plan[s (@ 70p wholesale). If there

tremendous example of �ahat can be accompliihed through inutual understanding
and cooperatior. Please note that b22,000 has been included in this report for
immediate renovations needed at the Senior High School level. This amount of
money is not to be construed as part of a long range plan for the Senior Highs,
but rather as an immediate expenditure to help balance out Districtwide usage;
and thus, promote better management and maintenance of the four Junior High/Middle
School sites. I would recommend that a study of the t��io Senior High School sites
be conduded, and that recommendations are made bused on the outcome of�what is
approved for the four Junior Hiyh/Middle School sites. Also, please notie that an
io-depth report on the work to be done at each site will be provided by the various
City Park and Recreation Directors, along oiith a detailed report on Che in-kir.d;
costs to be a6sorbed by the Cities. tde feel the in-kind costs for the cities to �
complete these projetts taill total approximately 510U,000 in manpower and equipment. �
The exact breakdoo+n of the in-kind cost: for each city �is approximately 257, of the
total cost of the project each city is invo�lved in.. Th'is rst�ima�te is based on '
documented costs of projects already coinpleted.

John Moga Proper[y - Ramsey County Parks and Recreation Department recen[ly
informe8 staFf [ha[ the County has acquired C}�e John Nega. klomestead property
for a County Park. The Moga proper[y is ]ncaced on Old pighway 8 alcng itiw
Creek.
One of the ques[ions [hat the Coun*_y has asked us, is the his[orical
significance of [he ac[ual bulldings. Accoxding m oui research che
buildings �re the oldes[ homes[ead in [Le Ci[y of Mounds View, buc they
are not architecturally special.
The Co�ty c�ill be recommending [ha[ [he buildings be destroyed unless chey
here o[herwise. If you have any feelSngs wncerning the res[oration of the
buildings at the Moga proper[y, feel free co con[ac[ our office.
Lakeside Park - A'he Lakeside Park program will run similar co pas[ years,
�mder the direction of [he Lakeside Park Commission. StafF has been working
with Councilmember Rowley co improve [he upcoming swimming program which will
be three sessions -[hree weeks in leng[h in 1978.
We aze very fortuna[e [o have Park Commi.ssioner Linke [o serve on bo[h the
City Park and Lakeside Park Commissions.
Office Reloca[ion - S[aff has moved [heir offices m[he basemen[ of City
Hall (we prefer [o call i[ [he firs[ floor). The move has proved [o be a
great asset on developing s[aff co�unica[ion as well es a vas[ improvemen[
over past office accoowodations,
Soin[ Coumwnity Educa[ion Conference - I will be attending a confecence on
May 3 and 4 at [he Thunderbird No[el concerning fu[ure coopeca[ion be[ween
communi[y educa[ion and municipal recrea[ion. I will he preparing a report
for the May Park Co�.ission meeeing [o bring you up-to-date on [he conference
highligh[s.
Hd¢ewood Jr. High - I have enclosed a proposal [hat will be preaenced to
Sthool Board 0621 mambers nex[ week. As can be no[ed in [he attached proposal
the Ci[y's share in fu[ure years is as follows:

Adult Softball - The adult eof[ball leagues have heen finalized for 1978,
the final league [otals are:
1. Monday Mena Compe[itive - B Leams
2. Tuesday Womens Compe[itive - 8[eamv
3. Wednesday Mens Recreational -$ teama
4. Thuraday Womens Recreational - 6 teams
This is an increase of four [eams over las[ years program.
The managers meeting is scheduled for May 2 with 'he season sla[ed m begin
the week of May 8.
Cammunity Ed Dinner - The Pbunds View Community Educa[ion Depar[men[ is
planning on having [heir annual dinner on May 9 a[ McGuires Restaurant. The
guest spealcer for the evening is Dr. Peter McGraw, P[esident of the U. of M.
