Dear Parks and Recreation Commissioners:
Enclosed is your packet of information for the regularly scheduled
June 28, 1979, Comnission meeting. The meeting is scheduled at
6:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers.
The major issue we will be discussing will be the acquisition of
property for Silver View Park. I would recomnend that you try to
walk the property some time between now and Thursday's meeLing. As
you are aware, we presently own 16.9 acres at the corner of Silver
lake Road and County Road H-2 and have received an acqu9sition grant
of $138,600 from L.A.W.C.O.N. for additional park acreage.
The second item we will be addressing will be the potential water
problems at Woodcrest, Greenfield and Hillview Parks.
If you have any questions regarding the enclosed information or vrould
like staff to prepare additional information, feel free to give me a
call at 784-3055.

The purpose of this report is to keep the Pzrks and Recreatton Comnlsslon
inforimd on current issues within the Parks, Recreatlon and Forestry
Department that do not need official Commfsslon actton.
Clerk-typist - Kim Johnson, a junior at Irondale Nigh School �o7ned our steff
effective February 26, 1919. Kim will be assi;ting Pat our department secretery
with all routine clerfcal functions including xeroxing, light typing, telephonee
and filing.
Her salary of $2.90/hour is paid for out of the C.E.T.A. progrem.
City Administrator applications - ihe City Cound 1 has reduced the fl nel
app cants own to ten. t e ten flnelists, 7 are locel and 3 are out of
state. Thetr tentative timeline has them conducting thelr 1n1N el lnterW ews
in the first week in April with the hope of having a new Administretor on
board by June 15.
