- � t <br /> • MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE <br /> • PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> ilk June 23, 1983 <br /> Mounds View City Hall <br /> Council Chambers <br /> 6 : 30 p.m. <br /> CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Chairperson <br /> Wayne Burmeister at 6 : 40 p.m. <br /> ROLL CALL Commissioners present : Chairperson Burmeister, <br /> Commissioners Wermager , Weflen and Letendre . <br /> Commissioners absent : Commissioners Long , Silvis, <br /> and Bowman . <br /> Councilmembers present : Councilmember Doty. <br /> Vistors present: none <br /> Staff present : Parks and Recreation Director <br /> Anderson. <br /> COMMISSION . MTG. A motion was made by Commissioner Weflen, seconded <br /> MINUTES by Commission Wermager to approve the May 26 , 1983 <br /> Park and Recreation Commission minutes as <br /> presented. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> 4 ayes <br /> 0 nayes <br /> CHAIRMAN' S Chairperson Burmeister reported that Mr. Bob <br /> REPORT Halseth, 7666 Knollwood Drive had two maple <br /> trees that could possibly be transplanted with <br /> the City' s tree spade . In addition , he commented <br /> that the young soccer players were causing damage <br /> to the turf at Silver View Park. Staff <br /> indicated that he was aware the field was not <br /> totally ready for play but due to the major defi- <br /> ciency we have in soccer fields, it appears to be <br /> our only option at this time to allow limited usage <br /> of the Silver View soccer field . <br /> COUNCILMEMBER'S Councilmember Doty questioned whether or not staff <br /> REPORT contacts developers before construction to see if <br /> any of the trees on site could be relocated in the <br /> park areas. Staff indicated that he would contact <br /> Forester Wriskey to determine how we might initiate <br /> contacts with local developers. Councilmember Doty <br /> also stated that a complimentary ticket was going <br /> to be provided to each Park and Recreation Commis- <br /> sioner to attend the annual Appreciation Dinner. <br /> Staff indicated that a letter would be drafted and <br /> forwarded to each Park and Recreation Commissioner <br /> to determine whether or not they would be able to <br /> attend and would make use of the complimentary <br /> ticket. <br />
