RESOLUTION NO. 6138
CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ADVERTISING A VACANCY FOR THREE
POLICE OFFICER POSITIONS
WHEREAS, the November 4 referendum proposing to increase the tax
levy to fund two new police officer positions over and above current staffing
levels passed, and;
WHEREAS, one of the existing Police Sergeants will retire effective
January 31,2004, and;
WHEREAS, the police sergeant position is an essential position to the
operations of the Police Department, and having a replacement Sergeant in
place at the time of the retirement is critical to maintaining uninterrupted
continuity of functional Police operations, and;
WHERAS, a replacement Sergeant shall be promoted internally from a
police officer position, creating one additional Police Officer vacancy.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City
Council does hereby approve advertising to fill three vacant Police Officer
positions.
