RESOLUTION 8308 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> APPROVING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT WITH MACPHERSON-TOWNE COMPANY FOR THE <br /> MASONRY RENOVATION AT CITY HALL & COMMUNITY CENTER <br /> WHEREAS, the City established an exterior wall management program for all municipal buildings, <br /> and park facilities in 2012; and <br /> WHEREAS, the program identified the exterior walls at the Community Center & City Hall are in <br /> need of various types of repair/replacement; and <br /> WHEREAS, Public Works contracted with Inspec to prepare project documents for the repair work in <br /> accordance with industry standards, and solicited and received 3 quotes as follows: <br /> Rank Contractor Quote <br /> Low Macpherson-Towne Company $47,776 <br /> 2 The Caulkers Company, Inc. $48,000 <br /> 3 American Restoration Company $54,608 <br /> WHEREAS, Macpherson-Towne Company of Minneapolis, Minnesota submitted the lowest quote in <br /> the amount of$47,776; and <br /> WHEREAS, City staff recommend approving a construction contract with Macpherson-Towne <br /> Company to perform the exterior wall repair work. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey <br /> County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> 1. The City hereby accepts the total combined quote proposal for $47,776 submitted by <br /> Macpherson-Towne Company of Minneapolis, Minnesota for the Masonry Renovation at City Hall <br /> & Community Center (City Project No. 2014-M09). <br /> 2. City Staff is authorized to prepare a construction contract agreement between the City of <br /> Mounds View and Macpherson-Towne Company for $47,776. <br /> 3. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed, for and on behalf of the <br /> City, to execute and enter into a construction contract agreement. <br /> 4. Inspec is authorized to perform construction inspection for the project for an estimated fee of <br /> $4,500 <br /> 5. Monies for the Project shall be funded by the Special Projects Fund (480-4180-7050).
