RESOLUTION 8314 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> APPROVING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT WITH STONEBROOK FENCE, INC. FOR THE <br /> INSTALLATION OF A PERIMETER FENCE AROUND MUNICIPAL WELL NO. 4 <br /> WHEREAS, A primary goal of operating the drinking water system is to provide safe, reliable water <br /> supply to customers <br /> WHEREAS, a perimeter fence is to be installed to provide wellhead protection at municipal well No. <br /> 4. A variance was approved by the Planning Commission on October 1, 2014 to install a 6-foot high fence ; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, Public Works prepared bid documents in house and solicited quotes from 6 fencing <br /> contractors, with 5 bidders responding. Pricing as follows: <br /> Rank Contractor Quote <br /> Low Stonebrook Fence, Inc. $9,250 <br /> 2 Century Fence Company $9,485 <br /> 3 Town & Country Fence $9,600 <br /> 4 Top Line Fence $9,750 <br /> 5 Midwest Fence $11,424 <br /> WHEREAS, Stonebrook Fence, Inc. of Lakeville, Minnesota submitted the lowest quote in the <br /> amount of$9,250; and <br /> WHEREAS, City staff recommend approving a construction contract with Stonebrook Fence, Inc to <br /> perform the fence installation work. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey <br /> County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> 1. The City hereby accepts the quote proposal for $9,250 submitted by Stonebrook Fence, Inc of <br /> Lakeville, Minnesota for the Perimeter Fence Installation at Municipal Well No. 4 (City Project <br /> No. 2014-M08). <br /> 2. City Staff is authorized to prepare a construction contract agreement between the City of <br /> Mounds View and Stonebrook Fence, Inc for$9,250. <br /> 3. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed, for and on behalf of the <br /> City, to execute and enter into a construction contract agreement. <br /> 4. Monies for the Project shall be funded by the Water Fund (700-4823-5160).
