RESOLUTION NO. 6173
CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF FOUR NEW THIRD GENERATION
AUTOMATED DEFIBRILLATOR DEVICES (AED'S)
WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department purchased four 151
Generation AED's in 1998 from Cardiac Science of Minnetonka, MN; and
WHEREAS, Cardiac Science is currently offering an upgrade program that
will give a purchase credit toward 3rd Generation AED's of $3200.00 ($800. per
unit) for the Mounds View Police Department; and
WHEREAS, 3rd Generation technology AED's list for $2495. plus $149.95
for a case and $39.95 for electrodes; and
WHEREAS, a grant was pursued and awarded through the American
Heart Association which will provide funding in the amount of $5369.80, which
can be used toward the purchase of new AED's; and
WHEREAS, Accrued interest from the police grant fund of approximately
$1065.00 and at least $1104.80 from the police forfeiture fund will be used to
cover the remaining balance of costs for the purchase.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows:
The Mounds View Police Department is authorized to purchase four, new,
3rd Generation AED's, with electrodes and cases, from Cardiac Science.
This purchase will be funded by a combination of upgrade credit, grant
funds, and monies from the police grant fund and police forfeiture fund.
Adopted this 26th day of January 2004.
