RESOLUTION NO. 6194
CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPROVING THE LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION FOR THE TWIN
CITIES NORTH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TO ALLOW CHARITABLE
GAMBLING AT JAKE'S SPORTS CAFE IN THE CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Gambling Control Board requires local units of
government to pass a resolution specifically approving or denying Lawful
Gambling License Applications; and
WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View approved on February 11, 2002 a
resolution to allow for the New Brighton-Mounds View Chamber of Commerce to
conduct charitable gambling at Jake's in the City of Mounds View; and
WHEREAS, the Gambling Control Board approved the Lawful Gambling
License for the Mounds View site with a beginning date of June 1, 2002; and
WHEREAS, the New Brighton-Mounds View Chamber of Commerce and
the Southern Anoka County Chamber of Commerce officially merged on July 23,
2002, and continued the charitable gambling operations at both Jake's locations;
and
WHEREAS, the Twin Cities North Chamber's license renewal application
is due to the State of Minnesota by April 1, 2004; and
WHEREAS, the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce is in
compliance with all charitable gambling requirements of Ordinance 691, which
became effective March 9, 2002; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, THAT the Mounds View City
Council does hereby approve the renewal of the license application for charitable
gambling at Jake's Sports Cafe in the City of Mounds View to the Twin Cities
North Chamber of Commerce.
Adopted this 23rd day of February 2004.
